  • on Networking & Climbing the Political Ladder

      05 April 2009

wmunoz1 Never in a million years have I imagined I will be mingling with the Deputy Mayor! Just goes to show you how thick my face has gotten being able to go up to semi-strangers like that.  :P But I’m so glad I did.

She was so nice and after talking to her a bit, she actually connected me with an MLA’s campaign manager.

This girl’s off to the elections,  lah!

Monday after school, I’m off to Headquarters. Nervous? A bit, yea. Which is potentially very bad considering how I blabber incoherently when I’m nervous. But hopefully a level head will win over.

And now, more than ever, I’ve realized that:

It’s important not just to dream, but to get involved and do things to make your dream happen.

    Nice!
As far as making dreams happen, easier said than done, but I hear ya. =)

ryc: Market was terrible, but I still made a decent amount.

@yello_lego - True. And then when you think you've gotten there, it all suddenly comes crashing down. BAH! Haha, sorry for my pessimism. Real world politics sucks.

But anyway, there are far nicer dreams to look forward to. Like you playing in Carnegie Hall for example ;)  How was the wedding performance, by the way?

RYC to your RYC: That's good. I heard that the best place to get stocks in is with companies like Colgate. Haha, the toothpaste business is recession-proof, 'no?

@cpacaide - Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to reply. "Later" became 5 days later. :x.. I need to fix this bad habit.
Anyhow, in reply.. I've already played at Carnegie with two ensembles, although I've never done it solo. And the wedding performance was fantastic. :)
As for blue chip stocks like Colgate.. if you want security, yes. But the real money (to be lost or made) is in volatility.

Oh, so I *have* already replied to this.

    Ugh, my memory these days...
